It's been said that people come to therapy when their house is on fire! It may feel that way if your efforts leave you discouraged, bewildered, frustrated. You may be hoping to find ways to deal more effectively with painful or self-destructive thoughts, behaviors, interactions, and emotions, and develop and better achieve goals that now seem unreachable. i can help you do these things in a safe, relaxed space, working together toward enhanced coping, confidence, fulfilling relationships, and peacefulness. My focuses are relationships of all kinds: couples work-- marriage, pre-marriage, divorce, infidelity-- and anxiety, depression, and trauma. For couples and relationships, I use varying approaches. I have advanced training in Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). The latter, especially, shows 90% researched improvement rates in couples following it . I find useful results working with either couples or individuals wanting to learn/make personal changes to improve the relationship. Resolving anxiety, depression, and trauma involves looking at the whole person-- emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically-- using appropriate approaches (including EMDR) with a client's own strengths and abilities. It's all a hopeful venture-- serious concerns but with room for lightness and humor-- and renewed life as its goal.

Seeking counseling takes courage and bravery, no matter your life story. Whether dealing with a "normal" life transition, or dealing with a challenging "curve ball," we all need safe and loving support from time to time. Building awareness, growing intuition, and learning to trust and accept all parts of ourselves can help guide us through challenging times. Counseling can be a space to explore and build a deep inner knowing, aiding in the ability to weather any storm with peace and calm. After 20 years working in the arts, I made a life and career change and pursued counseling. Working with Veterans and women who were incarcerated inspired my path to the healing arts and counseling. Using tools like compassion, body/mind connections, and expressive arts, I provide a caring and accepting space for you to grow into the best version of you. You are the expert of your life. It is an honor to walk beside you on this journey. Please reach out for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit.

Sometimes life can be a bit too much: relationship struggles arise, worries seem too heavy, or direction is hard to find. That’s where I come in. As a counselor, I aim to meet each client where they are, building a deep understanding of who they are and collaboratively identifying what they need and how to get them there. I utilize an integrative approach, drawing on multiple counseling perspectives to meet each individual's needs through evidence-based approaches. I won’t force clients to do anything, but using my training and experience, I will both support and challenge them to make significant, lasting change. I grew up in Wyoming so I understand the culture of grit and resilience. However, I have also seen how that same culture can keep people from seeking support in hard times. As a counselor, I strive to help everyone feel welcome, heard, and valued. Starting a journey of growth and healing can be daunting. You don't have to do it alone. Let's embark on it together. I am currently accepting new clients and would love to meet with you for a free consultation over the phone or videochat. Whether you need an empathetic ear, specific skills, or help reflecting and developing insight, I am here to help.
